ISAA has few main regular social activities. These are events that are generally in the San Francisco Bay Area and are setup by the board members. Below is a selection of these activities. We encourage you to participate these events and also if interested, we are always looking for volunteers to help.

Dr. Yahya Tabesh is a visiting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and former visiting professor of mathematics at Stanford University. He taught at Sharif University of Technology for 25 years, serving as chairman of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. His research extends to computational linguistics, where he played a leadership role in developing Farsi under the Unicode standard. In 2010, Dr. Tabesh received the Erdős international award for his sustained and distinguished contributions to the enrichment of mathematics education. He directed the Math and Computer Olympiads in Iran and is co-founder of Polyup, a computational thinking playground for math education.

Dish Hike
Every Saturday morning (weather permitting), there is a Hike event setup by ISAA. Join us for a couple of hours of walk/hike and lively, scintillating conversation through the beautiful hills overlooking the Stanford Campus, the Dish Trail. A great chance to connect with the community.

Socials
ISAA conducts periodic social gathering is a local establishments (Breweries, Restaurants, Event venues, etc.). Currently few are in the works including an event in February in the mid Peninsula and one in the East Bay (TBD). Stay Tuned.

Concerts
Several concerts are planed and produced by ISAA per year. They include highly sought after master musicians of the Iranian music scene. Please visit the current event Tab for the upcoming events.
